Cabinet on Tour to take place in Castleford
People are being invited to come and take part in Wakefield Council's next Cabinet on Tour event.
These events are where key decisions are made following discussion between the elected members.
Wakefield Council's Cabinet meets regularly to discuss the district's important issues as well as hearing reports about the different council functions. The next meeting is on Tuesday May 9 at Castleford Civic Centre from 10.30am to 12pm.
The reason for taking Cabinet meetings 'on tour' around the district is to make it easier for people to attend.
Residents will have an opportunity to ask the panel of Cabinet members questions at the end of the meeting.
Cllr Peter Box CBE, Leader of Wakefield Council
Wakefield Council Leader, Cllr Peter Box CBE, said: "Cabinet on Tour events are all about making it easier for people to get involved in the democratic process. It's an opportunity for people to ask us about the issues that matter the most to them.
"I hope people will come to the meeting, as we want to know their views, and they will receive a warm welcome."
People can tweet their questions on the day to @mywakefield and councillors will answer as many as possible.
The meeting will be streamed live on the day, or can be seen on the Council's website later. For further information and to watch the video visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/livestream
Cabinet on Tour takes place throughout the year at venues across the district. The dates for forthcoming meetings and venues will be announced closer to the time.
