Voting opens for Market Trader of the Year
Vote for your Market Trader of the Year 2017
The hunt is on to
find the district’s Market Trader of the Year 2017.
Wakefield Council has launched the competition to acknowledge the contribution
that market traders make to our local communities and members of the public are
being asked to vote for their favourites.
The Council is looking for a ‘Market Trader of the Year’ from each of the
Council’s markets at Castleford, Normanton, Ossett, Pontefract, South Elmsall
The six will then go through to the final with the overall winner receiving the
title of Wakefield District Market Trader of the Year 2017 and £250 of free
trading (no cash alternative).
Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Skills, said: “There are many
wonderful and passionate traders based throughout our district’s markets. I
hope that plenty of people take the time to nominate their favourite, so we can
celebrate their contribution to making our markets such vibrant and interesting
places to be.”
The winner will be a trader who represents all that’s best about the district’s
markets. They should:
• Be great ambassadors for their market
• Give excellent customer service
• Offer good quality products
• Have a stall that is dressed to a high standard.
Residents can vote for their Market Trader of the Year online at www.wakefield.gov.uk/markets
Alternatively, residents can vote for their Market Trader of the Year by
completing a leaflet available at any of the Council’s market and handing it in
to a member of Wakefield Council market staff.
