Traffic disruption on Wakefield Road and Queen's Drive in Ossett

Motorists are being advised there may be some congestion in the Wakefield Road area near the junction with Queen’s Drive in Ossett.

A road traffic collision, which occurred in the area on Monday (February 20) has resulted in extensive damage to the traffic signal control box. As a result the traffic lights at this junction are not working.

Wakefield Council staff have put temporary traffic controls in place. It is expected that it will take a few days to replace the control box so the temporary traffic controls will be in place until then.

There may be congestion in the area.To minimise disruption, the temporary arrangements will require all right turning traffic from Queens Drive to divert left and use the M1 Junction 40 (in close proximity) to complete a westbound manoeuvre to Wakefield.
