Free programme for entrepreneurs launches in Wakefield
A free programme to help entrepreneurs, with an interest in technology, to launch their business is taking place in Wakefield.
The FutureStart course aims to help people who have a bright idea which they want to develop, as well as those who have just started in business.
The course offers a combination of classroom and one-to-one sessions with industry experts. It aims to equip people with the skills such as how to develop their plans, create a pitch and finance their idea.
Cllr Peter Box CBE, Leader of Wakefield Council, said: "I am pleased this course is encouraging people with an entrepreneurial spirit to learn the skills and develop the knowledge they need to succeed in business.
"Small and medium sized businesses play an important role in helping the local economy and support our aspiration for greater growth and prosperity for our district."
The four week course is being delivered by Futurelabs, at Unity Works in Wakefield in the evening, and starts on March 22. People need to register by February 27 at www.f6s.com/futurestartpre-accelerator2017
The project is sponsored by Wakefield Bondholders and is part of the European Regional Development Fund's Ad:Venture Programme.
