Residents are invited to see the newly renovated ceremony suite at the Pontefract Registration Office.

Pontefract Registration Office is holding an open day on Saturday 21 January, 10am - 3pm. The Council's Registration & Celebratory Services team will be on hand to discuss the ceremonies they can offer and answer any questions. Local suppliers will also be showcasing a range of wedding products and services.

The Hartley Suite at Pontefract Registration Office has recently been refurbished to a high standard to offer a beautiful ceremony location, in the heart of Pontefract town centre.

Cllr David Dagger, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, said: "Pontefract Town Hall is an 18th Century, Grade II listed, building in the heart of the town's ancient historic centre. The ceremony suite has just been redecorated throughout, making it a beautiful location for special ceremonies. Pop along to the open day to see what we can offer at this fantastic venue."

The Hartley Suite, located in the former Mayor's Parlour, is an approved venue for marriages and civil partnerships and is also available for naming and renewal of vows ceremonies.

Pontefract Town Hall also has two additional approved marriage and civil partnership ceremony rooms; The Nelson Room and The Assembly Rooms. Viewings of these rooms are by appointment.
