Cabinet on Tour visits South Elmsall
08 November 2016
People are being invited to come along and take part in Wakefield Council’s next Cabinet on Tour event.
The meeting takes place on Tuesday 29 November at Westfield Resource Centre, South Elmsall from 10.30am to 12pm.
These events are where key decisions are made following discussion between the elected members.
Wakefield Council’s Cabinet meets regularly to discuss the district’s important issues as well as hearing reports about the different council functions. The reason for taking Cabinet meetings 'on tour' around the district is to make it easier for people to attend.
Residents will have an opportunity to ask the panel of Cabinet members questions at the end of the meeting.
Wakefield Council Leader, Cllr Peter Box CBE, said: “These events are all about making it easier for people to get involved in the democratic process and to ask us about the issues that matter the most to them.
“I hope people will come to the next Cabinet on Tour meeting where they will receive a warm welcome."
People can tweet their questions on the day to @mywakefield and councillors will answer as many as possible.
The meeting will be streamed live on the day, or can be seen on the Council’s website later. For further information and to watch the video visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/yoursay
Cabinet on Tour takes place throughout the year at venues across the district. The dates for forthcoming meetings, are on 14 February 2017 and 9 May 2017. All the meetings will be from 10.30am -12pm. Venues will be confirmed closer to the time.
