Council congratulates students on GCSE results

Date: 25/08/2016
Ref: PR 8326

Young people across the district have received their GCSE results today (Thursday 25 August).

At this stage it is too early to know the exact picture of results for the district, however Wakefield Council's Cabinet member for Children and Young People has sent her congratulations to all students.

Cllr Olivia Rowley, Wakefield Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "Congratulations to all the students who are receiving their GCSE results. We want every young person in the district to achieve their potential and hope that all their hard work, as well as the support received by their teachers and families, is paying off today.

"For those who didn't get the results that they wanted, I'd urge them to contact their school to discuss their options.

"I wish all our students the very best for the future."
