Castleford's Three Lane Ends play area to get new play equipment Castleford school children joined the Leader of Wakefield Council to officially reopen Three Lane Ends Play area, after a £46k transformation.

Earlier this year pupils at Three Lane Ends Community Primary School met with Cllr Peter Box to have their say on the new play equipment. As a result the play area on Jin Whin Hill now includes a multi-play unit, slide, swings, spinner, rocker and seating, which is all on the latest rubber safety surfacing.

Exciting new equipment has been added for children aged up to 12 years, which includes a huge timber climbing unit, new balls games area, with goal mouth, basketball hoop and target games. New fencing has also been fitted to secure the play area from dogs.

Cllr Peter Box, Leader of Wakefield said: "Local councillors saw that play area desperately needed updating and after consulting with the community we knew it was also a priority for local people.

"I am delighted the new play area is now finished and being enjoyed by our children."
