Cabinet on Tour comes to Wakefield Town Hall

PR ref:8242

Date: 01/06/2016

People are being invited by Wakefield Council to come along and take part in the next Cabinet on Tour event.
It takes place on Tuesday June 14 at Wakefield Town Hall from 10.30am to 12pm.

Wakefield Council's Cabinet meets regularly and discusses the district's important issues as well as hearing reports from the different council functions. The reason for taking Cabinet meetings around the district, on Tour, is to make it easier for people to attend.

The meetings are where key decisions are made following discussion between all elected members.

Residents are being invited to attend, and will have an opportunity to ask the panel of Cabinet members questions at the end of the meeting.

Council Leader, Cllr Peter Box CBE, said: "I'd like to encourage people to come along to the next Cabinet on Tour meeting. These events are about making it easier for people to get involved and to ask us about the issues that matter the most to them."

People can tweet their questions on the day to @mywakefield and councillors will answer as many as possible.

The meeting will be streamed live on the day, or can be seen on the Council's website later. For further information and to watch the video visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/yoursay

Cabinet on Tour takes place throughout the year at venues across the district. The dates for forthcoming meetings are 6 September and 29 November 2016, and 14 February and 9 May 2017. All the meetings will be from 10.30am -12pm. Venues will be confirmed closer to the time.
