Cabinet on Tour – budget special

Wakefield Council's next Cabinet on Tour event is taking place in Castleford where the Council's Cabinet will be setting the budget for 2016/17.
The important budget decisions will be the main focus of the meeting and residents are invited to attend and put their questions directly to Cabinet members.
The meeting is taking place on Tuesday 16 February at Castleford Civic Centre (Ferrybridge Road, WF10 4JH) at 10.30am.
Residents are invited to come along and see the Council's decision makers in action as they discuss those difficult choices on how to save £27m in 2016/17.
Council Leader, Cllr Peter Box CBE, said: "We're continuing to run our Cabinet on Tour events to make it easier for residents to come along and take part.
"The next Cabinet meeting in Castleford is particularly important as we will have to make some very difficult decisions as we discuss our budget for the forthcoming year. We hope as many people as possible will be able to attend and ask us their questions."
If Cabinet agrees the report the budget will be presented by Cllr Box to the meeting of Full Council on 2 March.
The Cabinet agenda, including next year's budget proposals, will be available in advance of the meeting from 8 February at 6pm at www.wakefield.gov.uk/council
Wakefield Council's Cabinet meets regularly and discusses the district's important issues as well as hearing reports from the different council functions. The meetings are where key decisions are made following discussion between all elected members.
