Temporary closure of Airedale Library for refurbishment

Airedale Library will temporarily close for refurbishment from Sunday 20 December at 1pm.
Adult Education classes, the Café and children's centre will be unaffected by the works and will remain open as usual throughout.
From Monday 4 January a limited library service will be available from a classroom at the side of the building. The opening times are:
Following the improvements the library will reopen fully in Spring 2016.
Cllr Les Shaw, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: "We apologise for any disruption the refurbishment will cause, but hope all users to the library will enjoy the much improved facilities when it reopens. A smaller library service will be offered at the side of the existing building to help keep disruption to a minimum."
As part of the works, the library will benefit from new carpeting, lighting and soft furnishings.
Computers will be unavailable during the closure. Residents who require computer access can use facilities at Castleford Library and Museum, Carlton Street, Castleford.
