Anyone interested in becoming a teacher is invited to one of our special open evenings where they can find out all they need to know about training – from a teacher training provider rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.

The events, organised by the Wakefield Regional Partnership for Initial Teacher Training (WRPITT), take place on Monday 23 November at Horbury Academy (Wakefield Road, Wakefield, WF4 5HE) and Thursday 15 December at The Chesneys Centre in Featherstone (Regent Street, WF7 5EW). Both evenings are from 5pm until 7pm.

During the evening there will be an opportunity to talk with representatives of the partnership and find out more about teacher training in Wakefield including how to apply.

Cllr Olivia Rowley, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "If you are interested in becoming a teacher, you could be trained by an outstanding provider right here in Wakefield.

"We want to encourage people into the profession and then give them the best training we can.

"I hope anyone thinking about becoming a teacher will come along, find out more and start their journey into the teaching profession."

WRPITT has been recognised by Ofsted as a provider of outstanding Initial Teacher Training in England and has been invited to share good practice at a national conference.

The Partnership offers teacher training places in primary and secondary education.
