Jobs Fair promotes opportunities for seasonal working
PR ref: 5043
Wakefield Council is working in partnership with Trinity Walk, the Ridings Shopping Centre, Jobcentre and other town centre retailers to host a job fair to advertise Christmas vacancies.
The Christmas Job Fair is run by Wakefield Council and a team of Job Centre Plus Business Advisors to promote vacancies over the Christmas period and encourage applicants to apply.
Cllr Denise Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Skills, said: "I encourage local businesses with job opportunities to take part in the fair and have their vacancies filled with skilled people from the local community. Jobcentre Business advisors will be on hand at the fair to offer support and ensure that the right candidates are matched the right opportunities.
"This is a great example of how we can work together with local businesses to make Wakefield thrive, saving local business time and money to fill their vacancies and giving more local people access to employment opportunities."
Hundreds of job vacancies will be available and Wakefield Council are encouraging job seekers to come along to see what's on offer.
The events are open to everyone and will be held on:
· Friday 18th September 2015 – The Ridings – 10am to 5pm, Unit 81, Cathedral Walk, top floor in between Carphone Warehouse and Coffee 2 Day.
· Saturday 19th September 2015 – Trinity Walk – 10am to 5pm, unit 17/18 Trinity Walk, next to Clintons.
Local businesses can enquire about taking part in the fair by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 0791 775 1175
