Local residents are invited to a 'Love Where You Live' event in Havercroft and Ryhill.

Organised by local ward Councillors and supported in partnership with Wakefield Council, the family fun day takes place on Wednesday August 26 from 11am to 3pm at The playing fields off Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre, Mulberry Place, Ryhill, WF4 2BD.

Local ward Councillors have also been working with local schools and the Parish Council to organise the event which includes free children's rides, stalls, and advice and guidance from partner agencies will also be available.

Cllr Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Communities, said: "If we work together we can make a real difference to where we live. So I encourage local residents to come along, have fun, and talk to those who provide services in the local area. We like to hear from you and it's a great opportunity to raise any concerns you may have. And it's all free, so come along for a family day out."

The event is funded by Havercroft with Cold Hiendley, and Ryhill Parish Councils.
