Residents invited to Love Where You Live event

PR ref: 5003

Date: 11/08/2015

Local residents are invited to a 'Love Where You Live' event in Crofton.

Organised by local ward Councillors and supported in partnership with Wakefield Council, the family fun day takes place on Wednesday 19 August from 11am to 3pm at The Siddings, Shay Lane, Crofton, WF4 1PE.

Local ward Councillors have also been working with schools and the Parish Council to organise the free event which includes fun activities for children and advice and guidance from partner agencies will also be available.

Cllr Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Communities, said: “The aim of the fun day is to have fun, meet friends and talk to all those people who provide services in this area. It’s about inspiring local people to think about where we live and finding ways to transform and maintain it.

"We held a similar event last year which was extremely successful as local councillors we were able to engage with residents. If we work together we can make a real difference to where we live."

The event is funded by Havercroft with Cold Hiendley, and Ryhill Parish Councils.
