Wakefield Armed Forces Day takes place at National Trust Nostell Priory and Parkland on Saturday 20 June
Armed Forces Day is being celebrated by Wakefield district on Saturday 20 June from 10am to 5pm at National Trust Nostell Priory & Parkland, marking the outstanding contribution that the armed forces make to the country.
The event includes a Spitfire flypast, a free fall parachute display, military bands and police dog display. Entry is free, with a £3 parking charge (National Trust members free).
Children will also be able to enjoy other attractions including climbing towers, a giant inflatable assault course and paint balling.
Cllr Sandra Pickin, Armed Forces Champion for the district said: “I’d encourage everyone to come along and enjoy the day which recognises the contribution of those who have fought to protect our country and those still serving.
“There are lot of attractions, which makes it a great day out for all the family.”
