Wakefield Council opens outdoor play and exercise area at South Elmsall market
A new outdoor play and exercise area is to open at South Elmsall market, giving children and adults opportunities to keep active.
The new area will be officially opened on Saturday June 6 at 10am.
On the opening day there will be face painters, balloon modellers, and a word search game for youngsters.
Facilities will include a basket swing, climbing frame, outdoor gym equipment and a table tennis table.
The play and exercise area is being funded by Wakefield Council, and is part of the drive to provide spaces for outdoor activity to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Cllr Denise Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Skills at Wakefield Council said: “The new play and exercise area is a great addition to the market, and gives children and adults another opportunity to be active.
“I’d encourage residents to come down and to try out the great new facilities for themselves.”
