Wakefield Council Election 2015

Wakefield Council remains in overall Labour control following the results of the 2015 local council elections.

The overall turn-out was 57.6% compared to 30.17% in 2014.

Labour held 16  of the 17 seats they were defending and lost one to the Conservatives.

The Conservatives held three of the four seats they were defending and have gained a seat from Labour. 

The make-up of the Council remains the same, as it was following the 2014 election:
Labour   54
Conservative   6
UKIP   2
Independent   1

This year’s election was for a third of seats across the Council - one in each of the 21 wards.
