Date: 20/10/2014

A legal advisor at Wakefield Council has scooped a regional Yorkshire Legal award.

Sarah Wildey, 26, from Rothwell, has been working for the Council for four years, has taken home the Rising Star award for her continuous work in Child protection cases. She qualified in her law degree from Northumbria University in 2010 and later took up her post as a lawyer at the Council.

Sarah said: "It's great to be recognised for all the hard work I have done over the past few years. I feel really flattered to have just been nominated – but to win – it is a bit overwhelming."

Service Director for Legal and Governance, Bernadette Livesey said: "Wakefield Council benefits from having an extremely hard working and committed legal team.

"I am pleased that Sarah has been acknowledged by the legal industry for her achievements."

The ceremony took place at Leeds Armouries – where Sarah was presented with her award.

Organised by Barker Brooks Communications, publishers of Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer magazine, The Yorkshire Legal Awards bring together this region's legal community to recognise and celebrate its myriad achievements.
