Knottingley and Canal Cycle Track

Wakefield Council is to hold consultation on the development of a cycle track along canal at Knottingley.

This forms part of a larger scheme to create a cycle route running from Knottingley to Pontefract linking residential areas to recreation areas, retail and town centre and railway stations.

Improvements to the Canal and Riverside were identified in the Knottingley Delivery Plan which proposes a 20 year vision to bring forward of regeneration projects in Knottingley and Ferrybridge to support their economically success and to build thriving communities.

The consultation will take place on the 17th October between noon and 5pm along the canal itself.

The Council wants to know how you would like to use the canal and how you would like it to look.

If you are unable to get down to the canal but would like to complete the questionnaire, please call  01924 305995 or by visit http://www.wakefield.gov.uk/residents/planning/regeneration/regeneration-five-towns-south-east .
