Wakefield Council responds to inspection report of its Youth Offending Team

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation recently inspected Wakefield Council's Youth Offending Team and released its report into the service today (8 October). The report said the service had improved its work considerably and seen a welcome reduction in the numbers of young people reoffending.

Responding to the report, Cllr Olivia Rowley, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said: "We are pleased that Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation has recognised the hard work of our Youth Offending Team and the improvements in reoffending rates this has brought about.

"I know the team works hard with and on behalf of children and young people in our district and that they will continue to make improvements."
