Businesses urged to get free business advice in Pontefract
Free business advice will be on offer at Pontefract Enterprise Show on Friday 26 September.
The event, part of The Wakefield Business Support Programme, will be held in the Marketplace from 9am until 3pm.
Businesses will be able to get all kinds of advice, from how to start a business to growing your current business. Support includes key financial advice, business growth options, export support, recruitment, apprenticeships and more!
Local business GMP Ltd is a start-up which has benefitted from the programme. Louisa Smith, Director of GMP said: "The Wakefield Business Support Programme has been incredibly helpful on so many levels!"
Leader of Wakefield Council Cllr Peter Box, who will formally open the event, said: "We have a thriving start-up sector in the district and it's great to see so many partners turn out to give free advice to people wanting to start or grow a business.
"If you're thinking of starting a business Pontefract Enterprise Show is a great place to come as you'll get so much advice all in one place."
Since its start The Wakefield Business Support Programme has supported 300 business start-up enquiries and helped 75 new businesses become established.
The businesses supported range from GMP Ltd, a company who provide business to business print management solutions in Wakefield, Stacey Kelly, author and illustrator who has written, designed and illustrated two children's books that can be personalised, to The Old Chocolate Tree – a hand crafted chocolate company based in Upton.
