See the Council in action in Pontefract
Residents are being invited to see the Council in action at its first Cabinet On Tour event at Pontefract Town Hall on September 29 2014 from 10.30am until 12 noon.
Wakefield Council's Cabinet meets every three weeks and discusses the district's important issues as well as hearing reports from the different council functions. The meetings are where key decisions are made following discussion between all elected members.
Locals are being encouraged to come along to the meeting and to ask questions during the Q&A session which will take place after it.
For those who can't attend in person, questions can be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, on www.facebook.com/mywakefield or on Twitter at @MyWakefield
Council Leader Peter Box CBE, said: "this is one of a number of ways that we're making it easier for residents to talk to us and access council meetings.
"As the Council we represent the people of the district and it's important they have chance to see us in action in their area.
"All Cabinet meetings are held in public but we want to make it more convenient for people from all around the district to interact with their elected representatives and ask us any burning questions."
The Pontefract Cabinet meeting will be the first of a series of meetings at locations around the district over the next six months. Details of future events can be found at www.wakefield.gov.uk/yoursay
