Fabulous Food Events with Wakefield Museums

Date: 08/09/2014

We are welcoming everybody to come and enjoy a special event celebrating the history of food.

As a part of the You Are What You Ate project, the Council will be holding the exciting talk on Tuesday September 23rd at Castleford Museum from 6pm - hosted by Food Historian and Great British Bake Off expert - Ivan Day.

The illustrated talk, entitled 'Flaumpens, Chewitts and Bakemetes' investigates pastry as a sculptural medium.

Cllr Les Shaw, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport said: "This will prove to be a great treat for anybody who wants to know the history behind some of the best foods our country produces. So get the date written in your diary and come down for a whole host of fun."

This event is funded by the Welcome Trust in partnership with Wakefield Council, the University of Leeds and the University of Bradford.

Places are limited - anybody interested should book their place by contacting museumslearning@wakefield.gov.uk  or 01924 302700
