Don’t miss the event of the summer!
Wakefield Council is reminding residents to set the date in their diary and have their buckets and spades to hand as the seaside returns for a weekend of fun in Wakefield city centre.
The free annual event will be getting the kids splashing around on Saturday August 16 at 10am-5pm and Sunday August 17 from 10am-4pm at Wakefield Cathedral Precinct, with many fun activities from donkey rides, Punch and Judy, live music, deck chairs, to the exciting opportunity for children to meet the Change4Life interactive Disney show on Saturday.
There will also be fun at Wakefield Market Hall on the Saturday between 10am–5pm. Children can have their faces painted and take part in a seaside themed craft activity.
Cllr Les Shaw, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: "We are getting ready to put on a great event this summer with so much fun and enjoyable things happening at this year's Seaside in the City for all the family.
"Put the date in your diary and get ready for a weekend of jam packed fun activities – really set to make your summer that extra special."
