Council Services Set To Be Disrupted By Industrial Action
Following a vote by a number of national trade unions in relation to a national pay award, there will be industrial action on Thursday July 10 which will directly affect Council services.
Residents should expect some disruption to services. For example, around 40,000 households which are due to have their bins emptied on the 10th are unlikely to receive this service.
We expect emergency services and services for the most vulnerable to still be in place and we will do everything we can to maintain other services. We are advising people to check before they use a council service. Parents and carers need to contact their children's nurseries, children's centres and schools directly for the most up to date position.
We won't know until the day itself the extent of the disruption to services. Details of how services have been affected will be posted on the day on the Council's website www.wakefield.gov.uk
