Wakefield Council is marking Armed Forces Week with a free event to celebrate and honour our Armed Forces on Sunday June 22 at Nostell Priory.
Residents are invited to the event which begins at 10am in which military and personnel and local Councillors are due to attend.
The day promises something for all the family to enjoy including a spectacular display by the White Helmets motorcycle team, a farmers market, a parachute display, a craft fair, spitfire static display, inflatable assault course, climbing wall, falconry display, community area and much more. There will also be performances from a number of military bands.
Cllr Sandra Pickin, Wakefield Council's Armed Forces Champion, said: "We're delighted to be supporting Armed Forces Week again this year with a spectacular free family event at Nostell Priory. The day is part of our on-going campaign to honour and support service families and to help service personnel settle back into civilian life.
"We are proud to be hosting this event and hope many people come along to enjoy these events and show their support for our Armed Forces - past, present and future."
