Celebrate summer in the castles

Date: 25/04/2014
Ref: PR 4548

Wakefield Council has launched its 2014 events at the castles programme.  Tickets are now on sale for The Proms in the Castle and Macbeth at Pontefract Castle, and Pride and Prejudice at Sandal Castle, plus there are many more free events.

This year's packed programme contains more events than ever spread across the two castle sites, including events organised with our partners, the Friends of Sandal Castle, Friends of Pontefract Castle and The Pontefract Heritage Group.

After the success of last year's events where over 1200 tickets were sold for the Proms alone, visitors are encouraged to buy now, whilst stocks last as tickets are strictly limited. There is also a discount for buying in advance.

More information can be found on the council's website at www.wakefield.gov.uk\castleevents

Tickets can be bought from Pontefract and Sandal castles, Pontefract Museum, the Visitor Information Centre in Wakefield, and new for this year, online, via www.wakefield.gov.uk\castleevents
