Castleford Enterprise Show offers great opportunities
Ref: PR 4498
Wakefield Council is inviting budding entrepreneurs and existing businesses to learn about developing their projects at the Castleford Enterprise Show.
The show is taking place on Friday April 11 from 10am until 4pm at Henry Moore Square in Castleford town centre.
Over 20 organisations including Leeds Metropolitan University and JobCentrePlus are due to attend the event which is aimed at giving local people suggestions on how they can kick start their own business or boost an existing business.
The event will be formally opened by Cllr Peter Box, the Leader of Wakefield Council. Cllr Box said: "I am looking forward to launching the day. This is the first time we have held an event like this in Castleford and I hope residents come along to see the kind of support we can offer them in terms of building up a new enterprise or giving an existing business a boost.
"There will be many experts from a range of different businesses on hand to offer quality advice tailored to meet any kind of business needs."
The Castleford Enterprise Show is being delivered as part of the wider Wakefield Business Support Programme (WBSP) which has already helped many local people through the difficult stages of setting up a new business.
Launched last September by Wakefield Council the WBSP works in partnership with RCP21, South Elmsall Town Council and South Kirkby and Moorthorpe Town Council with part funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
The scheme aims to help businesses establish, grow and enter new, innovative and sustainable markets whilst creating jobs and prosperity in the district. It offers a range of free support to businesses in the district from business planning advice, access to funding and a calendar of networking and business events.
