Cabinet on Tour comes to Castleford
Residents are being invited to attend and take part in Wakefield Council's next Cabinet on Tour event at Castleford Civic Centre at 10.30am on 10 September.
Cabinet meetings are where key decisions are made by senior elected Members. Items to be discussed at the meeting include a £1m investment in a 'healthy High Street' in Pontefract, an increase in payments for foster carers, an apprenticeship levy and a proposed investment in Featherstone Sports Centre.
The reason for taking Cabinet meetings 'on tour' around the district is to make it easier for people to attend. At these events, residents will have an opportunity to put their questions about any local issues to the panel of Cabinet Members at the end of the meeting.
Cllr Peter Box CBE, Leader of Wakefield Council
Wakefield Council Leader, Cllr Peter Box CBE, said: "Cabinet on Tour is a good way for people to come and tell us about the issues that matter to them. Everyone can be assured of a warm welcome and I hope people will come along and share their views with us."
Wakefield Council's Cabinet meets regularly to discuss the district's important issues as well as hearing reports about the different Council functions.
The meeting on 10 September is from 10.30am to 12pm.
The meeting will be streamed live on the day, or can be watched on the Council's website later at: www.wakefield.gov.uk/livestream
