Tasty prizes will be giving visitors food for thought at this year’s Food, Drink and Rhubarb Festival.
On February 27, the festival's finale event will be hosted by and in aid of Wakefield Hospice - an evening with top TV chef Rosemary Shrager.
There are still a few tickets left for the event, dubbed An Evening of Rosemary, Rhubarb & Custard, which also includes the chance to win some once-in-a-lifetime prizes.
There will be a raffle and auction on the night giving people the chance to win a residential cookery course at Swinton Park, the home of Rosemary's very own cookery school, for two people.
If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, you could also win a private dinner party for up to 10 guests in your own home with food provided and cooked by the chef from Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield. Your evening will also include a waitress allowing you to spend time entertaining your guests!
There will also be the chance to win Rosemary’s cookery books that will be auctioned off on the night for Rosemary to personally sign to the highest bidders.
The evening will be held at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield. Tickets are £40 per person which includes a drinks reception, three-course dinner, after dinner speech from Rosemary and a live band to dance the night away. For tickets and information contact 01924 213900.
All proceeds from the event are in aid of Wakefield Hospice.
Cllr Denise Jeffery, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for culture, said: “This promises to be a fantastic festival and the finale event for the Hospice is a great way to round it off.
“There are some amazing prizes up for grabs at this exciting evening so I would encourage people to grab a ticket while they still can and support Wakefield Hospice.”
Rosemary added: “The Wakefield Food, Drink and Rhubarb Festival is a wonderful platform to showcase the best of our regional produce. With strong Yorkshire links and the fantastic added bonus of supporting Wakefield Hospice, I am absolutely delighted to be involved.”
The Wakefield Council-run festival will run in Wakefield city centre on February 26 and 27. For more information see 'Related Links' or call the Tourist Information Centre on 0845 601 8353.
