Wakefield's Health and Hygiene Awards
Ref: PR1896
Date: 01/09/08
Schools, mobile and outside caterers are among Wakefield kitchens to win in Council awards.
The Wakefield Council Health and Hygiene Awards recognise exceptional food hygiene standards and healthy menu choices.
The scheme, launched in May 2005, is open to over 2,000 premises across Wakefield. Successful applicants receive a certificate to display on their premises - a visible sign to customers of excellent food standards. The award will also be displayed against the premises details on the Scores on the Doors website (see related links), which publishes star ratings based on the hygiene standards found during environmental health inspections of food businesses.
More than 30 businesses have previously received awards.
This year, the awards will be presented on Thursday 11 September 2008, by Wakefield's Mayor, Cllr Jacqui Williams.
