Pontefract Emergency Department (A&E) to temporarily close overnight
The Board of The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust today (20 October 2011) agreed a recommendation from senior clinicians to temporarily close the Pontefract Emergency Department overnight, for patient safety reasons, due to a shortage of emergency doctors.
From 1 November, the Pontefract Emergency Department will temporarily close from 10pm to 8am, every night.
