Within the map page there are various mapping functions and
tools available. Further details on how to use them can be found below.

Zoom Tools - Are
located above the map and allow
you to zoom in and out of the map.
Clicking on the icons at either end alters the zoom level to zoom out or to zoom in. Alternately, click on the bars to move quickly
to specific zoom levels. The bar indicates the point you are at
within the available zoom range.

Pan Tools - Are
located around the map and allow you
to move the map in the direction of the arrows.
Clicking on an arrow moves the map in the same direction.

Note: If the above tools are not visible
the map is a static image only.
If an interactive map of the location is available there will be a
link on the page similar to the one shown below.

Go To... - Allows you to quickly move to another location
Clicking on the drop down menu allows you to re-centre the map at
a different location. Simply choose the location you want to
view then press the Go button.

Map Features - Enables you
to change the data displayed on the map.
Clicking on the drop down menu allows you to choose different
map Themes which changes the information represented on the map. To use
this select the Theme you want to view then press the Go
button. Note: The Map Legend is shown below the Theme
currently active on the map. The Legend shows you what
additional objects that have been added to the map and what they
represent. Changing the Theme will also change the Legend. All the additional objects have links to further
information. As you move your mouse over an object on the map text
will appear giving you more information about each object. Further information is available
by clicking on any of these object.
Note: This further information will be displayed below the map.

Nearest Facilities
Tool - Allows you to find the nearest
chosen service from your current location.
Click on the drop down menu, select what service
you are interested in then press the Go button. Note: Your results will appear on a static map with the results listed
below. To access an interactive map of any of the locations, you can
either click on an object on the static map or the link (as shown
below) next to each of the results.

Switch to a large map Button
- Allows you to enlarge the map image.
Clicking this button enlarges the map image. Note enlarging the
map will increase the image size, which may cause some problems for
anyone using a dial-up connection. Once pressed the button text
will alter in relation to the image size and the word map will alter
to photo if you are viewing aerial photos. If you are having
problems due to download speed or you want to revert to a smaller
map image simply click again.

Switch to aerial photo
Button - Changes the background map image to an Aerial
Photograph image.
Clicking on this changes the background mapping to the Aerial
Photography of the same location.
Once pressed the button text will alter to street map. If you want to
revert back to a map view simply click again.

Google
maps link - Allows you to use Google maps centred on your current map view.
Clicking on this changes the map, controls etc to Google Maps.
