Housing benefit

If you're on a low income or are finding it hard to pay your rent, you might be able to get help to pay all or part of it through Housing Benefit.

If you're not sure whether you might qualify for help let us work it out for you. Our staff will be happy to calculate your possible entitlement before you make a claim. It's free and it could save you money. Simply contact us on 0845 8 504 504 or call into our reception area at Civic Centre, Castleford.

Claiming is easy – anyone on a low income can claim. A leaflet, Housing Benefit, providing more detail is available for download (see 'Downloads'). There is more information available on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page - follow the link at the bottom of the page.

To check whether you could be entitled to Housing or Council Tax Benefits, along with a range of other benefits, please see the link to the Benefits adviser at Directgov in 'Related Links'.

**Please note: The contact address on the leaflets is for King Charles II House, Pontefract. We have now moved to: Ground Floor, Civic Centre, Ferrybridge Road, Castleford WF10 4JH.
