Benefit Appeals

If you think a decision we have made about your Housing or Council Tax Benefit is wrong you can ask us to explain it. But you must contact us within one month of the date on the decision letter.

If you still not happy with our decision you may be able to appeal to an independent tribunal. Use the appeals form under ‘Downloads’. Send the form back to the office shown on your decision letter within one month of the date on the letter.

Please read the leaflet Benefit Appeals - if you think our decision is wrong (see ‘Downloads’) for more detailed information about the appeals process and how the independent tribunal works.

You can also get free independent advice from the Springs Advice Centre or your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
