These procedures have been jointly produced by the following Safeguarding Children Boards: 

• Wakefield and District Safeguarding Children Board
• Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board
• Calderdale Safeguarding Children Board
• Leeds Safeguarding Children Board  

The procedures are formally reviewed by this consortium on a twice-yearly basis. In addition, minor changes can be made in between these reviews. Therefore, you can be certain that the procedure that you are reading is always the most current version. For this reason, we advise against printing sections of the procedures to keep, and are unable to provide hard copies. 

The procedures relate to all aspects of work to protect children, and also include guidance and protocols that relate to specific areas of harm, for example forced marriage, sexual exploitation, drug and alcohol misuse etc. The procedures have been agreed by all partner agencies of the Safeguarding Children Boards, and therefore must be followed in any situation in which a child or young person may be suffering harm.
