The Community and Voluntary Sectors have an important role to play in safeguarding children.  Increasingly these sectors are developing their own procedures regarding safeguarding children and safe recruitment of staff and volunteers.  The Voluntary Procedures July 2005 document in the 'Downloads' should assist organisations developing procedures.  

The WDSCB in partnership with the Children’s Fund and Voluntary Action Wakefield District are establishing a pool of trainers to meet the needs of this sector and in developing the attached guidance.
