Total Respect course

‘Total Respect ’ is a national initiative that aims to promote the voice of looked after children and young people in their individual care planning and offer opportunities for influencing policy and service development.

The initiative offers a unique opportunity to be trained directly by young people who are either in care or have experienced care. The training is aimed at a cross section of people who have responsibilities in providing or developing services such as Elected Members, Senior and Middle Managers, Social Workers, Carers and workers from other settings such as Education and Health.

Wakefield council supports this training and its responsibility as corporate parent to improving outcomes for all looked after children, young people and care leavers.

If you want to know more and get the next available training dates for 2011/12 please contact Victoria Butterworth in Workforce Development - vbutterworth@wakefield.gov.uk
