Useful Links
Useful Links
Here are links to the websites of some organisations devoted to the protection and welfare of children
Barnardo's
Barnardo's helps the most vulnerable children and young people transform their lives and fulfil their potential. Their website will tell you more about what they do and their work with children and young people as well as how you can help them to continue their work.
ChildLine
ChildLine is the free 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call our helpline on 0800 1111 about any problem, at any time - day or night. ChildLine's counsellors are there to help you find ways to sort things out. ChildLine is confidential - which means they won't tell anyone about your call unless you want ChildLine to talk to somebody for you, or you are in danger.
NCH
NCH charity works with children and young people, including those affected by poverty, disability and abuse. Their site describes NCH’s work and includes expert advice for children, young people and parents.
NSPCC
The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. The NSPCC supports 180 community-based teams and projects throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There is a free, 24-hour Child Protection Helpline - 0808 800 5000 - that provides information, advice and counselling to anyone concerned about a child's safety.
