The Assessment

If you or someone on your behalf asks for a comprehensive assessment, a member of the Team will visit you by appointment to find out the extent of your difficulties.

You can include family members, a friend or carer in the discussion. Your carer is also entitled to ask for an assessment.

If you have requested an assessment for equipment to help with your hearing and/or sight difficulties you will be visited by a representative from Wakefield Society for Deaf People (WSDP) or West Riding Blind Association (WRBA).  These local Societies provide equipment on behalf of Wakefield District Council. Whoever visits you will endeavour to do so by appointment.

You should always check the visitor’s identity card.
