As part of Family Services our day care services for older people aims to support the whole family.

Benefits of Day Care

  • We aim to maintain your daily living skills and provide opportunities for you to develop new ones.
  • We offer support to carers. Many carers welcome the chance to have time to themselves, to carry out shopping, relax, spend time with other members of the family in the knowledge that the person who they care for is safe.
  • We promote a healthy active lifestyle.
  • We support people with a range of abilities and disabilities.
  • We provide an opportunity to get out and meet with new people.

How to access Day Services

  • If you already have a social worker, please talk to them about it. If not, please contact Social Care Direct on 0845 8503 503.
  • A community care assessment will then be completed by the appropriate professional which will include a financial assessment.
  • If eligible for the service an introductory visit to the day centre will be arranged.

Day Centres have access and facilities for a range of disabilities. All staff are trained and work to strict council guidelines.
