Black Waste Bin Replacement Scheme

Black Wheelie BinSome households are still using very old black wheeled bins for their household waste. We are going to remove your old black waste bin and replace it with a new wheeled bin. Your old bin will be recycled and made into a new bin.

Please continue to use this bin for waste you cannot recycle:

How will you swap the bins, what do I have to do?

  1. It is very important that you place your old black bin out on your next waste collection, even if it is empty.
  2. If your old bin is full it will be emptied as per normal before it is taken away.
  3. After the old bin has been emptied please do not return it back to your property. Please leave it out on the kerbside to be taken away.
  4. You will receive the new bin on the same day as your scheduled waste collection.

What if I forget to place my old black bin out on the collection day?

We will make every attempt to recover the bin from your property on the collection day. However if we cannot do this the council will return as soon as possible to recover your bin. You can help us by making sure we can gain access to your old bin at all times.
