Wakefield Council is pleased to announce that we have a limited number of Rainsaver™ Water Butts for sale.
The water butts cost £26.15 each (RRP £45) and are available for collection from Wakefield Council Waste Services depots.
Manufactured from 75% recycled plastic, the Rainsaver™ Water Butt has a childproof lockable lid, holds 190 litres of water and comes with a free stand and a rainwater diverter kit. Please see the related download for further information.
Collecting rainwater in a water butt to use on your garden can save litres of treated tap water. Water butts collect run-off rainwater from roofs of houses, greenhouses and sheds; fit neatly against a wall or can be placed near plant beds to make watering easy.

If you would like to purchase a composter you can pick one up at your convenience from one of the following depots:
- Newton Bar Depot

Proof of identity
When you collect your water butt you will need to bring something with your address on like a bank statement or a utility bill.
Payment
Please note we can only accept payment by cheque or postal order. Please make your cheque payable to Wakefield MDC and put your address on the back of the cheque.
Please note:
- Allocation is on a strictly first come first served basis.
- Orders are restricted to one water butt per household.
- This offer is only available to households within the Wakefield Council area.
