Every year in the UK we throw away £12 billion worth of food which could have been eaten.
The Love Food Hate Waste campaign aims to reduce the amount of food that gets thrown away.
The campaign shows that by doing some easy practical everyday things in the home we can all waste less food, which will ultimately benefit our purses and the environment too.
It pays to plan!
A great way of saving money is to make a shopping list before you go shopping this way you only buy what you want - avoid special offers like multi-packs of small items i.e. juice cartons; buy large ones instead.
Plan your meals decide what you are having each day that way you are only buying food that you need; did you know that families who generally bring home 4 bags of shopping waste at least one of them. This means you waste on average £50 per month.
