The council offer low cost compost bins to help make it easy to start composting at home. We have two different sizes of composter to choose from:
Medium Size - £14.60
220 litres / height 90cm, diameter 74cm
Large Size - £18.79
330 litres / height 100cm, diameter 80cm

If you would like to purchase a composter you can pick one up at your convenience from one of the following depots:
- South Kirkby Depot, Clock Tower Row, Minsthorpe Lane, South Kirkby, WF9 3AR
Opening times: Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

Proof of identity
When you collect your composter you will need to bring something with your address on like a bank statement or a utility bill.
Payment
Please note we can only accept payment by cheque or postal order. Please make your cheque payable to Wakefield MDC and put your address on the back of the cheque.
