We ask you to follow the booking procedure below to dispose of your asbestos:

• You will need to make an appointment to dispose of your asbestos at least 24 hours prior to you wanting to dispose of it and no longer than 5 days in advance.

• Asbestos can only be disposed at the Waste Transfer Loading station, which is located at the Wakefield Household Waste Recycling Centre site on Denby Dale Road.
• Asbestos can only be accepted Monday to Friday between 9am and 11am.

You will be requested to provide the following information when making your appointment: 

• Are you are Wakefield Council resident?
• Is the waste wrapped - in line with Wakefield Council Guidance?
• Full name and address
• Contact telephone number
• Make, model and registration of vehicle you will be depositing the waste in
• Approximate amount of asbestos i.e. bags or sheets
• Date you would like to dispose of the waste

Please note: unfortunately we can not accept asbestos from builders or asbestos being deposited in builders vehicle.

When attending your appointment:

• please ensure the asbestos is double wrapped in thick polythene and sealed before you arrive at the site.  

Please note: If you do not follow the guidance, you will not be allowed to dispose of the asbestos.
