Food Safety Hazard Analysis

Think!!!

  • Is the food you produce safe for your customers to eat?
  • Could you cause food poisoning?
  • Have you ever sold food with a foreign object in it?

If you have never considered these or similar questions it is unlikely that you have done a HAZARD ANALYSIS.

To do a hazard analysis for food safety you have to look at the food you make, sell or handle from the moment you receive it to the moment it leaves your possession. You have to look at all the stages it goes through then ask yourself

  • Have I done everything to make sure the food is safe?
  • Have I exposed the food, at any stage, to a HAZARD?

A Hazard Analysis is required by law under the Food Hygiene (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995.
