Energy advice

The Home Energy Team is a one-stop shop for helping you save energy in the home and reduce your fuel bills. The Home Energy Team (HET) offers impartial advice, information and assistance. There is something available to everyone:

  • Insulation
  • Heating systems
  • Appliances
  • Lighting
  • Buying fuel
  • Claiming grants and discounts
  • Domestic renewable energy

The Home Energy Team also take the lead on local affordable warmth policy and strategy, working in partnership with other organisations and agencies to tackle fuel poverty.

 GoWarm Launches Special Deal

For a limited period only the Council's insulation partner GoWarm is offering cavity wall insulation and loft insulation* at a specially reduced rate starting from £99 per measure. This new lower prices is only available until 31 July so apply now to avoid disappointment.

*where there is currently less than 60mm of loft insulation installed

Green Living Day 2009

The 4th annual Green Living Day has been confirmed for Sunday 28th June at Waterton Countryside Discovery Centre, Anglers Country Park. Make it a date in your diary and come down to pick up advice on anything to do with saving energy and sustainable living. There will also be a brass band, free face painting and other entertainment.  

Wakefield Energy Savers

The 2009/10 Energy Savers Scheme was launched on 1 June and is now open for new applications!

The most effective way to warm up your home and beat the fuel price rises is to install loft and cavity insulation, making your home more energy efficient. Wakefield Council is now offering you the chance to have this work done free of charge. Call 0800 043 7310 to find out more or click on 'Grants and Schemes'.
