Warm Front

The revised Warm Front grant scheme re-opened to new applications on 14 April 2011.

Warm Front is a Government grant for a package of insulation and heating measures up to the value of £3500.  To qualify for Warm Front a person must meet all three of the following criteria:

  1. Live in their own home or rent privately and the property. 
  2. Have a home that has a SAP rating of 55 or under (this will be assessed at the point of application through a Technical Survey by Warm Front). A SAP rating is a measurement of how energy efficient your home is.
  3. Be in receipt of of one of the following:
    • Pension Credit - Guaranteed Credit or Savings Credit
    • Income Support of Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance and have any of the following:
      • Has parental responsibility for a child under 5 who ordinarily resides with that person
      • Child Tax Credit (which must include a disability or severe disability element for a child or young person)
      • Disabled Child Premium
      • Disability Premium (enhanced disability or severe disability element premium)
      • Pensioner Premium (higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium)
    • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) which includes a work related activity or support component

 Home energy efficiency improvement measures available include:

  • Gas, electric or oil central heating
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Loft insulation
  • Draught proofing
  • Hot water tank insulation
  • Low energy light bulbs
  • Glass fronted solid fuel fire
